One of the great blessings that Ali Rezazadeh Juybari received as a result of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, the Prophetic Hadiths, and Nahj al-Balagha was the opportunity to meet many of the leading Islamic scholars and religious authorities.
These meetings with eminent scholars—who devoted their lives to learning, teaching, and serving Islam—provided him with invaluable advice, spiritual encouragement, and guidance that helped shape his future path.
Among the distinguished scholars whom Ali had the honor of meeting were:
- Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Bahjat
- Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Fazel Lankarani
- Grand Ayatollah Mirza Javad Tabrizi
- Grand Ayatollah Salehi Mazandarani
- Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani
- Grand Ayatollah Ali Meshkini
- Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli
- Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani
- Grand Ayatollah Abdolkarim Mousavi Ardabili
- Grand Ayatollah Hassan Hasanzadeh Amoli
- Grand Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah Yazdi
- Grand Ayatollah Ja’far Sobhani
Each of these scholars welcomed him warmly and encouraged him to continue his journey in the service of the Holy Qur’an.
The details of all these meetings would require a separate volume. Here, we briefly present three memorable encounters.
Meeting with Grand Ayatollah Ali Meshkini
After listening to Ali’s eloquent recitation of the Holy Qur’an in fluent Arabic, Grand Ayatollah Ali Meshkini expressed great admiration.
At first, he assumed that Ali was a native Arabic speaker because of the remarkable fluency and accuracy of his recitation. When he learned that Ali was not Arab, he was deeply impressed by his mastery of the Qur’anic language.
Meeting with Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli
During this memorable meeting, Ali attended together with his father and his younger brother, Hasan. They were introduced by the renowned Qur’an memorizer Sayyid Masoud Khorrami.
After learning about Ali’s memorization and knowledge of the Qur’an—as well as Hasan’s achievements—Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli expressed his happiness and asked them several Qur’anic questions. Following Ali’s accurate responses, he remarked:
“These successes are the blessings of the pure blood of the martyrs. This is the grace of Allah, which He grants to whom He wills.”
He then prayed that Allah would grant Ali continued success in reciting the Qur’an, understanding its meanings, and acting upon its noble teachings.
One of his most valuable pieces of advice was that Ali should keep a notebook while reciting the Qur’an, recording any questions or reflections that came to mind. He explained that these questions could later be discussed with scholars or, as Ali matured intellectually, many of the answers would become clear through deeper study and reflection.
Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli also emphasized that such thoughtful engagement with the Qur’an would enable Ali to answer many of the questions and doubts raised within society.
He further stated:
“The outward meaning of the Qur’an is the key to its inner meanings.”
Addressing Ali directly, he continued:
“Allah has placed the key in your hands. It is now your responsibility to open this treasure. If Allah has granted you success in memorizing the words of the Qur’an, He has already given you the key. Memorizing the words is a great blessing, but it is only the beginning of the journey.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, he prayed for Ali and added:
“It is through the blessings of the late Imam and the martyrs that these dear young people have been granted access to this heavenly table.”
Meeting with Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani
Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani tested Ali with numerous questions concerning Qur’anic verses and expressions. He mentioned the names of several Surahs, and Ali immediately identified their corresponding chapter numbers.
The Grand Ayatollah then referred to the differences in the numbering of sermons and letters among various editions of Nahj al-Balagha. He recited the opening words of one sermon, and Ali instantly identified its sermon number, explained the numbering differences found in different editions, and continued reciting the sermon from memory.
He also asked several questions regarding the letters of Nahj al-Balagha, all of which Ali answered correctly.
Praising Ali’s father for raising such gifted children, Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani said:
“Just as you have successfully guided them in memorizing the Qur’an, you should also encourage them to pursue the Islamic sciences—including Arabic grammar, jurisprudence (Fiqh), and the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul)—so that they may become distinguished scholars and researchers. I pray that each of them will become a shining light for the Muslims and the Islamic community.”
